Does the product fit your lifestyle?

Does the product fit your lifestyle?

One of the many services Amanda Schroter Design provides is helping clients shop for pretty much everything they may need for their home or office including everything from flooring to cabinets, paint to door styles, furniture to drapery and blinds among many other things. If it goes in the house, an interior designer can probably find it for you. One of the questions that goes through my mind when seeking products for a client is “does this product fit the client’s lifestyle?”

If your designer doesn’t ask that question you may get products that require more maintenance than you bargained for! It’s an important question. The designer’s job is to know your lifestyle. How often do you like to clean? Are you relaxed about the state of your house or must it be immaculate? A good example of this is “espresso” or black furniture. It IS beautiful but if you like things to look clean and you do not like cleaning, dark furniture is probably not for you. The same issues also apply to the finishes you pick for your home when renovating or building. Building products such as flooring? What are the requirements for maintaining a beautiful product like bamboo flooring? Does the home meet the requirement for having bamboo flooring or is there a need for a humidifier in the home? These are just small examples of what a designer is contemplating when guiding a client, making sure their project turns out the way they like it, suiting their lifestyle.

Why 3D Rendering is great for those who are visually challenged!

3D Rendering

“Wow. It looks amazing! That is so much more then I expected. 🙂 I could never imagine using that front room but I look at that and my first thought was “I would use that all the time!” -Amanda Z.

Why 3D Rendering?

Computer Drafting and 3D Rendering are great for those who are visually challenged. If there are walls in the way or you have become too familiar with an room it is hard to imagine how great the room will look after the changes are complete. An interior designer / decorator’s job is to help you find the home you always wanted in the home you are living in and using 3D Rendering can make it easier for you to see the finished space.***

What is Space planning?

When starting a project one of the first things that must be done is planning your space. This is called Space Planning.

“Architecturally designing any space with all the amenities and mechanical gadgets to make it more functional for the occupants. Besides amenities, gadgets and good communication systems, it includes better sound and light control within the space. – http://www.triangleofficeguide.com/real-estate-glossary.html

“A term used to refer to the analysis and design of spatial and occupancy requirements, including, but not limited to, space layouts and final planning. – http://www.miltonterry.com/Glossary/Space-Planning.htm

So space planning analyzes your space, its function and your requirements  then works to incorporate all of it. 3D Rendering is a visual representation of what the space will be like when finished.

As I have said in previous posts 3D rendering keeps you, the designer, and contractor on the same page when it comes to the finished look of the project.

After you are done the planning, products will need to be selected and ordered.  Your designer can help you find the most appropriate products within your budget to complete the project and ensure your contractor has the specs.  It is best if you pick the products as soon as possible because some products have a long lead time for shipping and this can delay your project.

This is just a taste of the work involved, but if you have good people alongside helping you with your project, it will look great when it’s done.

***3D Rendering is an estimate of how the space will look. Due to differences in computer media and real objects as well as not having the exact rendering for every type of furniture your rendered space may not look exactly like the finished product.

Do you have trouble picturing what your room or home might look like?

3D Rendering

In the left hand corner is the 3D Rendering and the other two pictures are the before and after.

Here is what a before the redesign, design concept and after looks like. 3D Rendering help you plan. It also helps all involved to stay on the same page work towards the finished product.

  • Do you have trouble picturing what your room or home might look like?
  • Do you want a change but are you unsure where to start?
  • Do you like everything in the magazine but do not know what to ideas to incorporate into your own project?

One Way To Save Money and Time On A Renovation Project!

ASD_16

“3D Rendering – 3D Rendering is the process of producing an image based on three-dimensional data stored within a computer. 3D rendering is a creative process that is similar to photography or cinematography, because you are lighting and staging scenes and producing images. Unlike regular photography, however, the scenes being photographed are imaginary, and everything appearing in a 3D rendering needs to be created (or re-created) in the computer before it can be rendered. This is a lot of work, but allows for an almost infinite amount of creative control over what appears in the scene, and how it is depicted. – http://www.3drender.com/glossary/3drendering.htm

What does 3D Rendering do for you?

I have people ask me what 3D rendering is quite often. It is one of the tools which helps my clients get the full understanding of the vision for their house project whether it be re-doing their kitchen, bathroom, living room…. the list could go on. I have clients use this service to feel more confident about their purchases and as I said before to help them see the big picture of what their project could look like when done.

Your money is important and indecision in a renovation can cost you a lot of money. When you are thinking about starting a home project it is important to get it right the first time. So why not get the vision of what you want done down on paper? This way everyone on the project is on the same page and there is less chance of misunderstandings or changes to the project.

The price on this depends on the project size and complexity. I know that a project will go more smoothly if everyone has the same vision.
